The four key capabilities to look for when selecting an enterprise-wide DAM platform
Manufacturing enterprises need to implement an enterprise-wide digital asset management (DAM) platform that has asset and content management; accessibility and collaboration; and effective workflow management at scale and customer profiling capabilities. In an article titled “The 4 key capabilities of DAM platforms for manufacturers”, Tom Leeson, an industry-marketing strategist for the global manufacturing sector, writes that these four capabilities will help manufacturers use DAM to take full advantage of the digital assets that are being created within their enterprise.
Tom adds that as manufacturers become more and more customer-centric, they need to implement solutions that ensure they are providing information in the right format at the right time to meet requirements across the product lifecycle. With so many digital assets to manage, an ad hoc or distributed approach is no longer viable. Manufacturers need an enterprise DAM platform that puts them in control of the entire content creation and distribution process while optimizing value of the digital assets they create.
